Roomworks Classroom

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s article on a nursery school built by Swift Org, Roomworks have sent through the initial details of their latest classroom build.

Modular classrooms are basically very large garden rooms and feature many of the same materials and building techniques as you’ll find in garden room construction.

With a rising birth rate, we are facing a shortage of school places, so many schools are looking to create extra classroom space and are turning their attentions to the modern, modular buildings that companies like Roomworks create – thankfully the modular classroom has come along way from the draughty, uninspiring portable classrooms of our youth!

This is a 19m x 9m building and is Roomworks biggest yet. The building features two main classrooms, toilet block and lobby area, and Roomworks hope to have it finished in 30 working days!

The photo above shows the position after 5 days on site, by this stage the team had moved 30 tons of earth,  built 44 concrete and engineering brick piers, fabricated the sub-frame and  installed the 150mm SIPs floor (64 full sized SIPS panels).

The Roomworks team have promised more photos as the build progresses, for more information on inspirational, modular classrooms contact Roomworks.
