If you're based in Kent and looking to create a contemporary, self-contained annexe in your garden, it's worth speaking to the Ark Design Build team. They designed and built this stylish, three-room annexe, tailored to meet their client’s specific needs.
Over the years, we have featured several of Ark Design Build's garden annexes. Their projects range from compact annexes, where they maximise every inch of space, to larger multi-room designs, like this one.
Large Garden Annexe
This garden annexe is 10m x 5m, so has a footprint of 50sqm. Internal walls have been arranged to create three rooms, with the largest being an open-plan living area featuring a well-equipped kitchen.

The Ark Design Build team recognises they are creating a home. Over the years, we have seen them pay attention to finishing touches—one memorable detail is how they installed hooks in specific places for houseplants to hang. Not all garden room companies offer this level of service.
Thoughtful Design Details in the Bedroom
Ark Design Build’s focus on detail is evident in the bedroom, where custom shelving has been designed around a pull-down bed. This clever space-saving feature allows the room to be used for different purposes during the day and for sleeping at night. The garden apartment project we mentioned earlier also includes a fold-away bed.
The annexe benefits from a carefully designed arrangement of windows. In the bedroom, a combination of two long windows and a picture window brings in plenty of natural light while maintaining privacy.
The Main Room Features Bi-fold Doors
The main living area is fitted with large sliding doors on the front elevation and a wall of bi-fold doors on the side. These bi-folds open onto a spacious composite deck, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Ark Design Build offers a full turnkey service, managing everything from designing the building and obtaining planning permission, to overseeing construction. This includes groundworks, plumbing, connection to mains services, and building control sign-off.
