This stylish garden office is by Ark Design Build, who work in Kent, East Sussex, and parts of Essex. All Ark Design Build garden rooms are bespoke, tailored to the customer's specific needs and tastes. This design shares a similar style to a custom-shaped home office/cinema room that the Ark team designed a few months ago.
Recessed Front Wall
The 4m x 4m garden office incorporates several notable design features. One of the most impressive is the contemporary porch detail on the front elevation, creating a welcoming entrance into the room. A relatively simple design feature that has a significant impact on the style of the building. The three-sided porch cleverly houses the leaves of the bi-fold doors when they are open.
The 3m-wide bi-fold doors have been fitted with a low threshold, meaning that as the doors are opened, the office space flows out onto the composite deck area without a step between the two zones. Having both the internal and external flooring set at the same height is a sign of well-considered garden room design, avoiding any steps as you transition between the office and outside.
The black external cladding really makes this garden office stand out. Using one colour for the cladding, door and window frames, and roof trims creates a cohesive and effective look.
Light, Modern Interior Finish
Inside, the office has a light, modern finish. The Ark Design Build team plaster and decorate their rooms and lay durable laminate flooring for a high-spec, contemporary look.
Ark Design Build offers a well-specified electrical package as standard, including brushed steel sockets and an internet connection—features that other companies often offer only as optional upgrades.
