Alton is a long established name in quality greenhouses and they have now produced three classily designed garden rooms which can be used as quality summerhouses or by choosing their insulation, glazing and electrical options as a fully insulated garden room suitable for use as home office.
Alton has produced three designs each with its own style and charm. The Mayfair is an octagonal room whose shape produces an attractive roof which is tiled with durable cedar shingles and looks good from any direction. The Mayfair also features long Georgian style opening windows and outward opening French doors.
The Berkeley is a rectangular garden room which again features Georgian doors and windows as standard. The Berkeley has a hipped roof topped with decorative finials and can be finished with cedar shingles or cedar slats.
The Farringdon has a lower roof line than The Mayfair and The Berkeley meaning it can be situated near the boundary line, the shallow pitched roof has an overhang on the front elevation and is tiled in asphalt shingles which come in a choice of colours.
Alton Garden Buildings have a quality feel, externally they are clad in 21mm thick Nordic Spruce which is brushed to bring out the grain, the cladding is then painted in a choice of subtle colours, the cladding is painted before the garden room is assembled to avoid as striping in the paint effect due to timber shrinkage.
Internally Alton Garden Buildings are lined with grooved and painted MDF boards; the floor is 6mm laminate (there is also a deluxe floor option) which gives the feeling of a proper room.
If you plan to use an Alton Garden Building all year round as an office or studio you should consider their upgrade options which include bubble filled aluminium insulation in the floor, walls and roof and replacing the toughened single glazing with double glazed units which not only help keep the building warmer but also help with soundproofing the garden room.
Alton Garden Buildings offer an electrical package which consists of a consumer unit, 2 double sockets, light switch and light fixing point – all fixings are flush mounted and available in chrome or brass. The connection of the garden room to the mains supply needs to be undertaken by a qualified electrician.
Alton Garden Buildings are installed by their own expert team and can be completed in just a couple of days.
All buildings carry a 10 year cladding and structural guarantee.
