My Pad Garden Room Extension

Part of the appeal of the garden room concept is that they can be positioned away from the main house, but the design concept can also be applied to extending your house, this recent project by My Pad shows what a useful and attractive space can be created with a garden room extension.

My Pad were approached by Mr Mercer of Sheffield who had seen one of their contemporary garden rooms to see if they could build a contemporary garden extension in the same design, he also wanted a sheltered alfresco dining area alongside creating an all year round usable outdoor space.

Upon surveying the site My Pad recommended a cedar clad build extension with a modern clay tiled roof to link the existing build to the new. My Pad also advised Mr Mercer to incorporate 2 electric operated Velux windows, which would allow lots of light into the existing dark kitchen area.

All of the glazing was black framed full length windows and sliding patio door as was the glass roof bringing a seamless continuous feel linking the new build extension to the outdoor dining area. The extension is offset with a black slate patio which creates a coordinated look to the overall design.

My Pad have promised more photos of the completed building, but it is clear to see from these photos that they have created a striking, modern home extension.
