Imagine a beach hut nestled in the heart of Chelsea—Crusoe Garden Rooms Limited made this dream a reality with a custom-designed garden room that brings coastal charm to an urban oasis. This bespoke 5m x 2.5m building, divided into two functional rooms, was meticulously crafted on-site in a private Chelsea garden.
Beach Hut Aesthetic
This unique garden room features Crusoe's signature design standards, incorporating 100mm Ecotherm insulation in the walls and ceiling, and 75mm rigid insulation in the floor. These details ensure the space remains cosy in winter and refreshingly cool in summer, providing a versatile extra living area.
The exterior is clad in Western Red Cedar, which Crusoe clients often choose for its durability and natural beauty. To enhance the beach hut theme, the cedar was custom-painted in Sadolin Superdec, a long-lasting exterior finish known for its excellent colour retention.
Interior Details
Inside, the room is plasterboarded, skimmed, and painted with two coats of emulsion, with laminate flooring selected by the client to complete the relaxed, coastal vibe. The space includes a practical partition wall and a door in a stylish seaside theme, adding a personalised touch. The full electrical package—standard in Crusoe’s builds—features downlights, switches, and sockets, with a seamless connection to the main consumer unit.
