The Curved Range by Warwick Buildings

Warwick Buildings has been making timber garden buildings from its Warwickshire base since 1988, and the Curved Range is among the more architecturally distinctive options in the garden room market. In a sector where flat-roofed, rectangular buildings dominate, the arched roofline and deep front canopy give it a character that reads differently in a garden. Handcrafted at the company's own facility and installed by their experienced in-house team, it is designed for year-round use: well insulated, double glazed, and wired with electrics as standard.
The defining feature is the gently curved roof, which peaks at 2.5 metres — the height limit that allows a building to be installed under Permitted Development. That means most homeowners can proceed without applying for planning permission.
An Arched Roof and a Deep Canopy
The curved roofline sets this building apart from the flat-roofed garden rooms in the market. A 700mm deep canopy extends across the front, with exterior-grade spotlights recessed into the overhang — a detail that adds presence in the garden at dusk as well as shelter during the day.
The canopy incorporates a veranda detail with a supporting wall cheek positioned on either the left or right side; the opposite end has a glazed corner. A slatted cedar screen is available as an optional addition at the open end of the overhang, offering partial privacy while keeping the same material palette throughout.
Western Red Cedar Cladding
The exterior cladding is a choice between Western Red Cedar and pressure-treated shiplap, though most buyers opt for the cedar. Its natural durability — resistant to rot and insects without relying solely on treatment — is part of the appeal, but so is how well it pairs with Warwick Buildings' range of uPVC door and window colours. The seven available colours, which include Anthracite Grey, Chartwell Green, and Agate Grey, work particularly well against the warm tones of the cedar, and the combination gives the building a cohesive, considered appearance.
Cedar weathers over time: the initial reddish-brown gradually softens to a silvery-grey if left untreated. Applying a UV-protective oil can slow or manage that transition for those who prefer to keep the warmer original tone. The rear elevation uses shiplap as standard, with an option to extend the cedar to all four faces for a consistent finish.
Insulated for Year-Round Use
The wall construction follows a five-layer build: cladding, vapour barrier, redwood framing, insulation, and internal lining — resulting in a 100mm wall section. U-values across the building are 0.25 W/m²K for walls and roof and 0.17 W/m²K for the floor, both exceeding current UK Building Regulation standards. Insulation is available as 50mm Rockwool acoustic mat or 50mm PIR rigid board; both are configurable through the online tool. Triple glazing is available as an upgrade.
Configuring Windows and the Interior
The standard door configuration is a set of French doors, with the glazed corner adding a second source of natural light. Window sizes and positions across the other walls can be adjusted through the configurator, and a casement window provides opening ventilation as part of the standard arrangement.
Internally, the specification includes vertical tongue-and-groove wall lining, Harbour Oak laminate flooring, eight LED spotlights, and three double sockets with a consumer unit. Plywood lining and alternative laminate colours are available. For those who prefer to finish the interior themselves, the building can be ordered as a weathertight shell.
Three Sizes
The Curved Range is available in three sizes, all at the same external width of 3.8 metres:
- 3.8m wide x 3.0m deep
- 3.8m wide x 3.3m deep
- 3.8m wide x 3.6m deep
Internal dimensions are approximately 0.2m less in each direction. The range currently starts from £14,650, with prices varying by depth, options selected, and delivery location. All prices include VAT, delivery, and installation within the Warwick Buildings service area. Finance options are available for those who prefer to spread the cost.
The 10-year guarantee covers design and manufacturing faults, corrosion, and rot across the range.
Visiting the Show Centre
The Warwick Buildings show centre near Southam in Warwickshire displays 21 buildings from across the range and is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, and Saturday mornings by appointment. A 3D virtual tour is also available online for those unable to visit in person. The online configurator lets buyers work through size, door and window layout, cladding, and finish options before getting in touch.
