Nationwide or local garden room company

When buying a garden room, you have the choice of working with a local company or one that supplies nationwide.

Some companies focus on one city or county, while others cover a wider section of the UK, such as the South East, North West or Scotland. Then you have companies that offer their services throughout the UK.

Explore the garden room companies who work in your area.

Nationwide or local garden room company

Won't a nationwide supplier be more expensive?

Buyers often tell us they fear that a nationwide garden room supplier will be more expensive than working with a local company. While, of course, there will be exceptions, this is not the general rule. You will often find that a national company offers more competitive prices as they have economies of scale. They also tend to have more installation teams, so you will be able to have your room installed quicker than working with a smaller company.

One aspect that comes into play with some of the companies that offer a nationwide installation service is a delivery charge. The first 100 miles from their HQ are typically free, with a charge per mile thereafter. If you are based a long way from the company, this charge could quickly add up, so it would be sensible to compare your options with more locally based companies.

Garden room companies are experienced in working on projects further afield than the town or city where they are based. They are good with the logistics to ensure the right people & materials are in the right place at the right time.

They either have installation teams that they send to site, and they then stay in the area until the project is completed, or they have installation teams based around the country who are therefore relatively close to you.

Looking further afield opens up more options

If you only look at the work of the garden room companies that are based in your city or county, you are limiting your options. For instance, the specialist modular garden room designers, who allow you to mix different modules and features to create your ideal configuration, tend to offer a nationwide service.

Seeing before you buy

Buyers often comment to us that they would like to see an example of companies work prior to ordering, which is reasonable and advised. They think that this is only possible if they choose a company that is based locally to them. This is not the case; companies that work nationally will have arrangements with past customers for prospective buyers to have a look at their room. The likelihood is that they have a building they could arrange for you to see within a short drive from your home, so do ask!

Explore your options both locally & nationwide

You will want to get prices from a few garden room companies so that you can get a broad overview of your choices. We would mix quotes from a local company, one that covers your area of the UK, e.g. the South East and one that offers a nationwide service. This will give you a clear view of each company's services; it will give you greater design options and give you a range of quotes to compare.
