They were recently commissioned to design a music room that could house a grand piano by clients in Esher. The 5.2m x 4.1m garden room has been divided into three rooms. A welcoming entrance hall has been created that leads off to the main room which houses the piano. A cloakroom houses a toilet and basin, making the music room self-contained from the main house.
Acoustic insulation incorporated into the design
Executive Garden Rooms have built some of the most highly insulated garden room buildings in the UK. While this insulation offers good levels of acoustic insulation for everyday living. Because this room is going to be used as a music room acoustic insulation has been incorporated into the structure too.
The acoustic insulation package includes resilient bars in the walls and ceiling, SoundBloc plasterboard and the glazing in the doors & windows is a triple glaze.
Low maintenance exterior
The exterior of this music room has been finished with low maintenance materials. The walls have been clad in Cedral weatherboarding. This cement based board is pre-coloured and will retain its colour meaning no painting is required. As you can see Cedral cladding gives a garden room a New England look.
Executive Garden Rooms finish their roofs with a three layer, hot touch bitumen felt build-up. They prefer this tried and tested method over newer systems used in the industry such as EPDM.
Well specified electrics
Because Executive Garden Rooms supply their buildings on a turnkey basis, they will handle the whole project for you, from start to finish. This includes the connection of the garden rooms electrics to the consumer unit in your house. With some firms, you’ll have to organise this connection yourself.
The electrical specification in this music room includes plentiful double power sockets, LED downlights both inside and outside. CAT6 data cabling for reliable connection to the internet. Electric wall panel heaters for extra warmth on the coldest days of the year.
A self-contained building
This music room incorporates a cloakroom with toilet and basin. This complies with Building Regulations with the regulatory ventilation incorporated. Executive Garden Rooms handled all the necessary ground works to connect the cloakroom to the sewerage and water supplies as part of their overall project.
This substantial garden room took three weeks to build.
