We know we bang on about garden rooms being versatile, but this project by Timeless Garden Annexe proves our point. It has been designed as a boutique garden bedroom with ensuite shower room.
Situated in a pretty part of the garden, and finished to a high spec. Timeless Garden Rooms in close collaboration with their clients have created a guest bedroom that would not look out of place in a posh hotel!
The customer had a pre-determined design
The customers approached Timeless Garden Rooms with pre-determined design ideas, that they requested the Timeless team meet. They wanted to create a comfortable double bedroom with ensuite shower room. They also wanted to incorporate a covered porch area where muddy shoes could be removed before entering the room.
The Timeless Garden Rooms are used to working closely with their clients on the design of their buildings, so were happy to work to their clients very specific brief. In many ways, a customer with a clear design brief of what the building needs to deliver, is helpful for a designer.
The Timeless Garden Rooms team had several meetings with their clients to hone the design, and to ensure they were making full use of the space available.
They decided on a 3m wide by 5.5m deep building, which would slot in within the existing garden planting and take in views of the fields beyond.
It was decided that the shower room would be positioned in the recess that was created alongside the porch area. The resulting shower room, is compact, but fully functional with shower, toilet and basin.
Note about garden bedrooms
Any garden room that is going to be used for sleeping in, even only occasionally needs to comply with Building Regulations. Experienced designers like Timeless Garden Annexe will walk you through this process and ensure the changes to a standard specification are made, and the work signed off, so you are fully compliant.
Customer had a lot of input into the finishing details
As we say, Timeless Garden Rooms customer had a lot of input into the design of the building. Externally they chose a lovely soft green finish for the cladding which mixed with the Cedar shingle roof, looks beautiful.
Inside, they had a feature panelled wall installed as a backdrop to the bed. They also had bedside reading lights installed to complete the boutique accommodation look!
Garden rooms on the Isle of Wight
This project was built on the Isle of Wight. The customers had contacted several companies asking them to quote for the project but had been told they do not install on the island! Kent based Timeless Garden Annexe have built several garden rooms on the Isle of Wight over the years and were more than happy to help. The customer paid a small premium to cover the cost of the ferry journeys, but otherwise, the garden room was costed out as if it was a project on the mainland.
The resulting building has created lovely guest accommodation; visitors will be queueing up to stay!
