This stylish one-bedroom garden annexe is a bespoke design by White Peak Design & Build. It occupies a 9.5m by 5.5m footprint and features a bedroom, a multifunctional kitchen-living area, and an accessible bathroom.
White Peak Design & Build are specialists in bespoke design, known for their flair in creating contemporary garden buildings, as highlighted in several articles we’ve written about their work over the years.
In addition to garden rooms, they design and construct self-contained garden annexes. As bespoke designers, they tailor each project to meet their client’s specific needs. This living annexe project is a prime example of that custom approach.
Annexe with Feature Windows
A key feature of this annexe is its striking window configuration, which ensures a beautifully light-filled living space. White Peak Design & Build incorporated a steel framework to support the large expanses of glazing, particularly in the corner of the building, as seen in the accompanying photos.
Signature Cladding Detail
We’ve previously written about White Peak Design & Build’s attention to detail when it comes to exterior cladding, and this project is no exception.
The exterior walls are clad in dark grey/black cement fibre boards, which are pigmented during the manufacturing process, ensuring they retain their colour and won’t require repainting.
To accentuate certain aspects of the building, such as the entrance porch and large casement window, kiln-dried Western Red Cedar has been used.

Turnkey Service
White Peak Design & Build offer a complete turnkey service, handling the entire project from design to final connections. They are well-equipped for challenging builds. For this project, 200 tonnes of earth were excavated to create a level entrance to the annexe. In another project we recently featured, the team had to crane all the building materials over the main house before work could begin!
