Low maintenance exterior finishes for garden offices are gaining in popularity. While they often come with a higher initial cost compared to timber alternatives, many buyers are happy to pay more upfront to save on future maintenance.
One of the most popular options is Cedral cladding. Cedral is a cement fibre board that is coloured during the manufacturing process, eliminating the need for painting to preserve its colour. In contrast to timber-clad buildings, which require regular upkeep to maintain their appearance, Cedral-finished garden offices will stay looking like new with minimal effort.
Executive Garden Rooms have been at the forefront of using low maintenance finishes for their garden office projects. They have long offered Cedral cladding as an option, and you can explore several examples of these designs in our various articles showcasing their work.
Rendered Garden Offices
Another low-maintenance finish offered by Executive Garden Rooms is render. Crisp, white rendered walls can give a garden office a sleek, modern look, particularly when paired with dark grey trims. An excellent example is this two-person garden office, we featured, where the contrasting finishes create a contemporary aesthetic.
Mixing Cedral and Render
Executive Garden Rooms have also combined these finishes to great effect. These images are of a 4m x 3.4m garden office in Bristol. Here, the front elevation is finished with white render, creating a stylish contrast with Anthracite Grey French doors. The other sides and the roof canopy feature dark grey Cedral cladding, creating a striking mix of textures and colours.
By selecting low maintenance materials like Cedral cladding, render, and uPVC doors, the owners have invested in a building that will retain its look over time, requiring minimal upkeep. This means they can simply enjoy their garden office space without the burden of ongoing maintenance.
Comfortable, Air-Conditioned Interior
Inside, Executive Garden Rooms have delivered a light and modern workspace, with plastered and decorated walls and ceiling. They offer a range of heating solutions, with air conditioning chosen for this office. This system provides year-round comfort, keeping the space cool in the summer and warm during the colder months. The setup is discreet, with an outdoor unit and a smaller indoor unit positioned high on the internal wall.
