In addition to creating garden rooms, many of the companies we feature can adapt their designs for use in commercial settings. Ark Design Build, based in Kent and covering East Sussex and parts of Essex, is one such company. We have featured other examples of their commercial buildings used as a community hubs, which you might like to explore.
They recently completed a 9-metre-wide by 4.5-metre-deep community building for a charity in Richmond. The versatile space will be used by elderly residents for a variety of activities.
Ark Design Build managed the entire project on a turnkey basis, handling everything from installing the foundations to connecting essential services like electrics, water, and waste to the mains.
Open-Plan Room
The building features a large open-plan space with a WC discreetly positioned in one corner. The kitchen area is tucked into the recess created by the partition walls forming the WC.
The kitchen, equipped with stylish units, a fridge, and a sink, is perfect for preparing drinks and snacks. A water heater ensures that both the kitchen sink and the basin in the WC have hot water when needed.
The spacious WC has been fitted with brushed steel rails and a hand dryer, ensuring the facility was fully ready for visitors by the time the Ark Design Build team left the site.
The main room has been finished to a high standard, with plastered and decorated walls and ceilings. LED downlights have been recessed into the ceiling, providing excellent lighting throughout the room.

Two sets of bi-fold doors fold back, opening the room out onto the garden and offering easy access.
