Executive Garden Rooms are renowned for their bespoke garden buildings, and this luxury music room in Esher perfectly showcases their ability to tailor designs to client specifications. The 5.2m x 4.1m garden room was designed to house a grand piano and is divided into three spaces: a welcoming entrance hall, the main music room, and a cloakroom complete with a toilet and basin, ensuring the space is entirely self-contained from the main house.
Enhanced Acoustic Insulation
Executive Garden Rooms are known for creating some of the most well-insulated garden buildings on the market. While their standard insulation provides excellent soundproofing for daily use, this project required an additional acoustic package to meet the demands of a music room. This specialised acoustic insulation includes resilient bars in the walls and ceiling, SoundBloc plasterboard, and triple-glazed doors and windows, ensuring optimal sound control for music practice and performances.
Low-Maintenance Exterior
The exterior of this music room is clad in Cedral weatherboarding, a durable, cement-based material that is pre-coloured to maintain its appearance without the need for repainting. This not only gives the building a stylish New England look but also ensures minimal upkeep. The roof has been finished using a three-layer, hot-applied bitumen felt build-up, a reliable and tested method that Executive Garden Rooms favour over more modern solutions such as EPDM.
Comprehensive Electrical Features
As part of their turnkey service, Executive Garden Rooms manage the entire project from design to completion, including connecting the building’s electrics to the main house’s consumer unit. This music room is equipped with ample double power sockets, indoor and outdoor LED downlights, CAT6 data cabling for a reliable internet connection, and electric wall panel heaters to keep the space warm even on the coldest days.
Fully Self-Contained Design
This project’s self-contained design includes a cloakroom with a toilet and basin, meeting all relevant Building Regulations, including ventilation requirements. Executive Garden Rooms oversaw all groundworks necessary for connecting the cloakroom to water and sewerage systems, as part of their comprehensive service.
