As bespoke garden room designers, Timeless Garden Rooms can customise their buildings to suit each customer's specific needs. This soundproof garden recording studio is a fantastic example of their tailored approach.
Designed for Professional Sound Recording
The client for this project intended to use their garden room as a music recording studio, aiming for professional-quality recordings. To achieve this, they required a space with minimal echo and exceptional soundproofing.
Timeless Garden Rooms met these needs by incorporating the ReductoClip system into their multi-layer construction. This system creates a "room within a room" by decoupling the inner and outer structures, significantly enhancing soundproofing.
Space-Saving Acoustic Technology
The ReductoClip system's multi-layer build-up is approximately 15mm thinner than traditional resilient bar systems. This innovative approach provides additional usable space within the studio without compromising acoustic performance.
The construction process involved:
- Installing Reducto furring bars.
- Applying the first layer of acoustic plasterboard with a Tecsound membrane for added mass.
- Adding a second layer of acoustic plasterboard to create a three-layer "sandwich" structure.
Once the room was plastered and decorated, it achieved a high-end finish comparable to that of a new-build house. The studio, measuring 3.5m wide by 5m deep, offers plenty of room for instruments and recording equipment.
End-to-End Service with Planning Support
For this project, an ecological survey was required as part of the planning application. Timeless Garden Rooms managed this process as part of their turnkey service, simplifying the journey for the customer.
Contemporary Siberian Larch Cladding
This recording studio showcases the contemporary Siberian Larch-clad range by Timeless Garden Rooms. The weatherboard cladding adds texture and visual interest, while the natural honey tones of the fresh Larch beautifully contrast with the dark grey door and window frames.
