This pool house on Jersey was designed and built by Timeless Garden Rooms, one of the longest-established names in the industry. Based in Kent, Timeless Garden Rooms is one of a small number of companies with the experience and capability to undertake bespoke garden room and living annexe projects on Jersey. Over the years, they have successfully delivered buildings of all sizes and complexities, from compact garden offices to large multi-room annexes.
Designed Around the Client's Vision
This project began with a simple enquiry: could Timeless Garden Rooms design and build a small pool house on Jersey? The answer was yes for the right project, and over a four-month period the Timeless team worked closely with the client to evolve the initial concept into a fully realised design. This collaborative approach ensured every detail was resolved before manufacturing began and helped make the logistics of working off the mainland as smooth as possible.
The completed building sits neatly within the sloping garden, overlooking the swimming pool and enjoying sea views beyond. With its traditional dual-pitched roofline and distinctive architectural detailing, the pool house complements the surrounding buildings while enhancing the garden.
A Traditional Timber Frame, Built for Year-Round Use
Timeless Garden Rooms use a traditional insulated timber frame system for their buildings. The pre-fabricated wall and roof panels were manufactured in their Kent workshop before being shipped, along with all necessary tools and materials, directly to the site on Jersey. On arrival, the experienced installation team assembled the building on-site, working around the logistics of a hillside location.
Multiple layers of specialist materials, including breathable membranes and high-performance insulation, ensure the building is suitable for year-round use. Underfloor heating has been included to further enhance comfort in cooler months.
New England Aesthetic with Handcrafted Details
Measuring 6.5m x 3.5m, the main pool house features a rear extension housing a compact shower room and toilet. At the right-hand gable end, the roof has been extended to create a covered veranda with balustrade and LED lighting recessed into the underside of the canopy, providing a sheltered spot to enjoy the sea view.
The exterior styling draws on Timeless Garden Rooms’ signature New England aesthetic. Painted weatherboard cladding, shaped decorative barge boards, a vented cupola, and composite slate-effect roof tiles give the building a timeless Cape Cod charm. The French doors and casement windows have been finished with traditionally dressed lead flashings for durability and as another distinctive detail.
Elegant Interior Finishes
Inside, painted wall panelling adds depth and texture, while the beaded tongue and groove lined vaulted ceiling and exposed roof tie beams give the room character. The rustic wood-effect laminate flooring is practical for a poolside setting and ties in with the relaxed style of the space. A door at the rear leads into the shower room, which incorporates a modern electric shower, aquatic-toned tiled walls in a walk-in configuration, and a space-efficient layout.
