Working from home full time or for part of the week has become the norm for many people over the last couple of years. It can, however, be challenging to create a clear distinction between home and work life. One of the best ways to ensure a work/life balance is to install an outdoor office in your garden.
Modern Garden Offices offer a range of outdoor office buildings specifically designed to be comfortable, professional and productive workspaces at home. The beauty of their buildings is that you can close the door and walk back into your home life without distractions at the end of your working day.
As their name suggests, Modern Garden Offices are contemporary in design. The exterior style is a mix of sharp, straight lines and a palette of stylish finishes that look good and have a long, low maintenance lifespan.
Inside, the Modern Garden Offices range has a high-spec plastered and decorated finish that is mixed with a hardwearing Oak laminate, creating an interior that has the look and feel of a new build house.
The electrical specification includes lighting, a plentiful number of power sockets and a modern glass-fronted panel heater, ideal for the comfortable working on the coldest days of the year.
Modern Garden Offices offer four different ranges, which we will explore in a moment, but these are just a starting point for you to customise the layout and features around your unique needs.
The Modern Garden Offices team has made it easy for you to understand what your office building might look like and see how different design choices affect the overall cost, all without obligation. They have an easy to use Design & Price Tool which walks you through the process, do have a go!
Let's look at the different styles of outdoor room that Modern Garden Office offer:
Canopy Design
Modern Garden Offices Canopy Design is one of the most popular styles of garden room. The roof extends 1 meter beyond the front wall creating a lovely canopy detail that creates a welcoming entrance to your room.
Exterior grade LED downlights are fitted on the underside of the canopy. These lights will cast a nice curtain of light down the front of the building.
Some buyers choose to add a deck below the canopy creating a shady veranda - a lovely spot to sit during your coffee break!
Cube Design
If you are looking for a more boxy style building, then the Cube Design should fit the bill. As we can see from this image, the Cube range has crisp straight lines accentuated by the Cedar cladding.
Concave Design
For us, the Concave Design mixes the best bits of the Cube Design and the Canopy Design. You have the cubist form of the Cube Design but the welcoming porch detail similar to that offered by the Canopy Design.
The difference with the Concave Design is that the roof canopy and deck are connected by side panels that create a protective porch area. As you can see in this image, this is a stylish addition to the front of the building.
Border Design
The Border Design oozes contemporary features. The lovely Western Red Cedar cladding is mixed with a coloured, powder-coated metal trim that creates a border around the front elevation.
You can choose the colour of this border; you could colour match with the door and window frames or go for a contrasting colour like this stylish example:
Rendered garden office
As well as offering Cedar external cladding and composite wood cladding options, Modern Garden Offices also offer a rendered finish. As we can see, this creates a crisp modern look:
Modern Garden Offices utilise a silicone render system that has an extended maintenance-free lifespan and resists the cracks that can happen with cement-based renders.
The render that Modern Garden Offices use is pigmented during the manufacturing process, so there is no need for painting; you can choose your prefered colour from a palette of nearly 800 shades.
Any of these styles would make an excellent home office building. To learn more about the different designs, explore the Modern Garden Offices website. To start designing your new workplace, try their Design & Price Tool.
