Luxury Two-Roomed Garden Room with Shower Room

The owners of this stunning garden room had a vision for a luxury indoor-outdoor space that would provide a stylish retreat within their garden. Initially, they embarked on the project with another company but soon realised they needed the expertise of a more experienced firm to bring their vision to life. With an irregular-shaped plot to work with, the project required the skills of a bespoke designer who could maximise the available space while incorporating the high-end finishes the clients desired.
True to their name, Swift Unlimited are not restricted to a set palette of materials or standard shape buildings like many garden room companies. Their approach ensures that each project is tailored precisely to the client’s needs, sourcing the finishes and features that best fit the vision. This project is a testament to their ability to combine bespoke design with luxury craftsmanship.
Bespoke Layout and Spacious Design
The garden room was carefully designed to fit within the constraints of the plot, resulting in a striking multi-room building measuring 13m in length, with a width that varies between 5.3m and 3.3m. The building has an impressive 3m internal height, creating a light and airy atmosphere.
The layout consists of two independent rooms, each with its own entrance, interconnected by a shared lobby that leads to a centrally positioned shower room and WC. To enhance the natural light within the space, each room features a rooflight with integrated electric blinds, allowing for adjustable daylight control.
To help the clients visualise the final result, Swift Unlimited provided detailed 3D model visualisations and a floor plan, demonstrating how each space would be utilised and how the building would integrate into the surrounding landscape.
Comprehensive Groundworks and High-Performance Structure
Swift Unlimited managed the entire project, including all necessary groundworks. The foundation was installed using a groundscrew system, providing a stable and durable base for the building.
As with all their builds, Swift Unlimited used house-quality Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) at the core of the multi-layered construction. This high-performance SIP envelope ensures excellent insulation, keeping the garden room comfortable for year-round use.
The team also handled the groundworks for the shower room, managing the service connections to the mains while complying with all necessary Building Regulations. Given the constraints of the site, careful planning was required to navigate service connections through the existing porcelain patio and tiled internal floors.
High-End Interior Finishes
Internally, the rooms have been finished to an exceptional standard, with fully plastered and decorated walls and ceilings. A unique touch is the flooring, which has been installed at an angle, adding an extra design element that enhances the sense of space.
One of the key features of the project is the use of heritage-style Crittall doors and windows. These stylish black-framed glazed doors open onto the newly landscaped garden, seamlessly blending the interior with the outdoor space. The rear garden room extends onto a raised deck, which incorporates a sunken hot tub and a sunken seating area—features that Swift Unlimited coordinated closely with the client’s landscaping company.
Each room has been equipped with independently operated air conditioning units, allowing the occupants to maintain their preferred climate. The shower room has been fitted with a heated towel rail, adding to the overall sense of luxury and comfort.
Stylish Exterior with Thoughtful Detailing
The exterior of the garden room is clad in high-quality Siberian Larch, a durable and attractive timber choice. Rather than the more common vertical installation, the narrow boards have been fitted horizontally, accentuating the length of the building and creating a sleek, contemporary aesthetic.
A key architectural feature is the deep fascia and soffit, which have been powder-coated to match the doors and windows, ensuring a cohesive and polished appearance. Exterior-grade downlighting has been installed within the soffits, casting a soft wash of light down the walls for an elegant night-time effect.

Despite the complexity of the project, Swift Unlimited successfully completed the entire build in just 10 weeks.
