Ebony Thermowood & Cement Particle Board
In this custom garden office, Garden Spaces combines two resilient exterior cladding materials. The front elevation features Thermowood, a Scandinavian Redwood treated at high temperatures. This process transforms the wood’s structural composition, making it exceptionally durable and long-lasting.
Thermowood naturally displays a distinct grain pattern and a warm honey-brown tone that ages to a silver hue. This versatile material takes stains and paints well; here, an Ebony-coloured oil-based stain has been applied, enhancing both the protection and colour of the boards while retaining the wood’s natural grain.
The remaining three elevations, which face the garden boundaries, are clad in cement particle boards. These boards are highly durable, dimensionally stable, and resistant to rot. Garden Spaces colour-matches the cement particle boards with other external finishes, in this case applying RAL9005 Resifine—a flexible, durable finish that dries to a smooth surface.
Coordinated Doors and Cladding
A cohesive look is achieved by matching the bi-fold door frames with the cladding and trims. High-spec bi-fold doors with powder-coated aluminium frames were used for this office. When open, these doors create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, perfect for garden offices.
Composite Decking and Roof Canopy for a Welcoming Entrance
The roof extends beyond the front wall to create a stylish canopy, fitted with recessed exterior-grade downlights that cast a warm glow over the building’s entrance. The canopy is complemented by a black composite decked step, offering a durable, slip-resistant alternative to traditional timber decking.
Bright, Airy Interior
Garden Spaces finishes their rooms to a high standard, offering various flooring options. In this case, the clients chose Smoked Oak laminate, adding a warm, inviting tone to the interior. Plastered and decorated walls and ceilings enhance the light, airy feel of the room.
