The booming staycation market is making many families with a bit of extra space in their garden think of adding a self-contained annexe that they can rent out as a holiday lodge.
JML Garden Rooms recently built this two-bedroom annexe for customers in St Andrews. Their clients saw the potential to take down an old garage and replace it with a highly insulated, high spec annexe, where they could host family and rent it out to holidaymakers to generate some extra income.
Before approaching JML Garden Rooms, JML's clients had already had an architect draw up the plans for the 44sqm annexe. However, the JML team could have handled this aspect as part of their turnkey service as they have an in-house design team to create bespoke designs for clients and the ability to handle the planning process should this be required.
As we can see from these images, a stylish high-spec holiday lodge has been created. The arrangement of the rooms is an efficient use of space that allows for two double bedrooms.
The JML Garden Rooms team tell us that the new annexe provides steady income from holiday lets; it has also added value to the house.
"I have a beautiful two-bedroom garden annexe in my garden which was built by the team at JML. I can highly recommend this company for their standard of build, which is to a very high specification, and to be honest, just how nice they all were during the whole process!
From the time I met John initially to discuss the build and all the team from thereon in, it was a great experience in what could have been a stressful time. Of course, there are unprecedented hurdles on the way, but all were dealt with efficiently and cheerfully.
For you and your team to hit your estimated build costs at every turn and to do it before deadline was a real credit to your organisation and efficiency. It was also a massive relief to ourselves. We could not have asked for better building contractors. I now feel that I have an investment taking up the space where there was a very large garage full of junk!
Thank you JML!"
