Turning a Vision into Reality
When the client first approached Swift Unlimited, they had clear ideas for their new garden room. They envisioned a space that could function as both a family room and office while incorporating plenty of natural light and a separate garden storeroom. Rising to the challenge, the Swift Unlimited design team crafted a striking and practical room that fully utilises the garden’s corner, maximising every inch of available space.
A Thoughtful Design
This L-shaped garden room measures 7m x 7m along its perimeter edges, which run parallel to the garden fence. The front façade features a clever flattened angle, creating a unique three-sided, part-hexagonal shape. Oversized powder-coated aluminium sliding doors were installed, alongside three 1m top-hung windows and a 1.2m fixed-pane picture window facing the garden—all in premium aluminium finishes. These elements flood the space with light, meeting the client’s request for a bright and airy environment.
The building is clad in stunning Western Red Cedar, with a discreetly concealed entrance to a 2.1m x 1.9m garden storage room.
Features That Impress
A 300mm overhang adds a stylish touch while helping to keep the room cool during the hottest parts of the day. This effect is enhanced by integrated window blinds and a state-of-the-art air conditioning and climate control system. The exterior design is further complemented by a 700mm composite deck that frames the building’s shape and leads onto the lawn area.
As always, Swift Unlimited fitted this building with high-end details, including:
- Brushed chrome sockets with USB points.
- Recessed, dimmable Collingwood internal and external downlights, backed by an extended warranty.
- High-quality SIP panels to ensure year-round comfort.
