The key feature of the My Pad range by Contemporary Garden Rooms is the curved detailing on the front elevation. This striking addition makes the range stand out amongst other designs which feature a covered veranda. What is clever about this detailing, is that the Contemporary Garden Rooms have shaped both the deck and the roof overhang above it with a gentle curve. The deck and canopy are connected by a deep Cedar clad wall. This in itself is a clever design feature, in that the bi-fold doors which run along the front of the building will fold back neatly against it. The Cedar cladding forming the fascia of the deck and roof canopy has been well detailed, with the joins in the boards in line, top and bottom.
Contemporary Garden Rooms customer wanted the glazing to wrap around the corner of the building so that the established garden could be appreciated from within the room. This glazing is made up with a 5 meter wide set of bi-fold doors on the front wall. A steel corner post has been fitted to support the roof, and a floor to ceiling window with fanlight at the top has been fitted on the sidewall. A further letterbox style opening window has been fitted in the opposite wall.
You will notice looking at the photos that Contemporary Garden Rooms have used a bi-fold door system that has narrow frames. This creates a very sleek look and maximises the natural light entering the room and the views of the garden. The powder coated doors and windows have been finished in RAL 7039. This shade of grey compliments the richness of the Cedar cladding.
The garden room has been designed so that it can evolve for multiple uses. The owner has recently had hip surgery so it is first going to be used for rehab and will then transform into a family living room.
Contemporary Garden Rooms customer is in the construction industry himself, so knew what he was looking for from a bespoke garden room design. The Contemporary Garden Rooms attention to detail fitted the bill.
