Buying a small garden building doesn't mean you have to compromise on features. You can still have fashionable tall glazing and other contemporary features. This 3m x 1.8m garden office from Garden Affairs is a good example. With prices from £4,325, there is a lot to like about this small design.

Garden Affairs offer the Prima range in a number of sizes, the smallest option being 2.4m x 1.8m. You have the flexibility to increase the size to suit your requirements in 600mm increments.
A mix of windows
Garden Affairs offer a number of window options which you can choose to personalise your room.
If you play with their online design configurator, you can choose your ideal configuration of doors and windows. It is a clever system that updates the price with each choice you make.
With this project, the owner has mixed French doors with two long glazed windows on the front elevation. These windows are double-glazed and feature trickle vents. As we can see, this combination offers a stylish, contemporary look.
On the left-hand elevation, the owner has chosen to add a top-hung opening window, which they have positioned high in the wall. The addition of this window lets more light into the room and allows for easy ventilation.
The doors are fitted with a multi-point locking system.
44mm solid walls
The Garden Affairs garden room sits on a pressure-treated floor frame. Polyurethane insulation is incorporated into the floor structure and capped with 19mm tongue & groove floorboards.
The walls are constructed off the floor structure. 44mm thick tongue and groove Spruce timbers lock together to create a robust and solid wall.
The thicker the wall timbers, the warmer your log cabin will be in winter. Keep this in mind when comparing your log cabin options, as many ranges only feature 28mm thick timbers. It is worth paying a little more for the thicker timbers' solidity and thermal performance.
Polyurethane insulation is incorporated into the roof structure. Tongue & groove timbers form the internal ceiling. The roof is topped off with an EPDM membrane that has a long, maintenance-free lifespan. EPDM is laid in one piece, so there are no joints that could leak.
Painted in your choice of colour
One of the options that Garden Affairs offer is to have the exterior of the log cabin and the doors and windows painted in their factory. This is a good option to choose as your building will be finished in optimal conditions. It also saves you a job to do before moving into your room!
Garden Affairs offer a palette of contemporary RAL colours and wood stain options. In this case, the owner chose the Black/Grey option, which, as we can see, looks very good!
