If you have a small garden or don't want to take up much space in a bigger one, there are garden office designs that are no bigger than a standard 8ft x 6ft garden shed. You might wonder how useable such a small garden office would be.
To help you decide, we have created a mockup of a popular 2.4m x 1.8m (8ft x 6ft) garden office - the QuadPod Micro by Sanctum Garden Studios. The QuadPod comes in two styles, Office and Studio, which have different window configurations.
This first mockup illustrates how you could create a long bench-style desk under the opening window in the QuadPod Office option. Our model and the furnishings are to scale, so you can see that you can achieve good desk space and that there is still room to move about comfortably.
If you want a bigger window that offers more connection with the garden, then the QuadPod Studio is a good choice. A wide floor-to-ceiling window is offset to the side on the front elevation.
You could replicate the bench-style desk of our previous example, but it would cut across the window - not that there is anything wrong with that. So as to maximise your view of the garden, you might prefer to position the desk on the side wall, as in this mockup.
In this mockup akin to the QuadPod Micro Studio, we have added a free-standing desk, which laps the window a little but still allows for lovely views of the garden. As you can see, this has left room for a storage unit, and there is still room to move around.

We have written extensively about the features of the QuadPod range, which comes in bigger sizes too. It can be installed in a day with prices from £10,995 including VAT and installation.
