Unexpected, unusual, unforgettable.

How a couple of international designers are taking garden rooms in the UK to a completely different level.
"More and more people from all over the UK are calling and asking us to design something special for them," says Ivana Cavallo (former fashion designer whose designs were used by Dolce & Gabbana, Napapijri and Etro), owner of A Room in the Garden.
"We started in 2017 and have already been called the most creative company in the garden room industry. It is amazing to work with clients who really have a passion for design and don't want to settle for ordinary, widely available garden room designs," adds Lukas Brzozowski (who finished his Architecture Degree in Poland over 20 years ago), who runs the company together with Ivana.
A Room in the Garden specialises in designing unique garden rooms and liveable annexes. Each one is individually designed for the client. The A Room in the Garden team takes their clients on an adventure of self-discovery, a journey throughout their history that unearths their likes, dislikes, passions and needs. After this design consultation and connected site visit, they create a unique set of designs for each client.
What sets them apart, though, from being just designers is the fact that their company can also build what they design. So, A Room in the Garden
won't just present you with pretty visualisations; as they design each of their buildings, they have worked out how it will be constructed and what it will cost.
"We often have clients approach us with drawings for a garden room that their architect has prepared; they are then shocked by how much the design would cost to build. With our approach, there are no surprises for our clients. We design our garden rooms knowing how we will build the structure and what we can do to make it cost-effective for our client," adds Martin Graczyk (A Room in the Garden project manager), who connects the design part of the process with the construction.
A Room in the Garden limits the number of projects they are building, at any one time, to four. With this approach, the A Room in the Garden team can give each project the attention it deserves and offer their clients a high-quality, personal service from design conception to project completion.
A Room in the Garden offers inspiring, unique garden room and living annexe designs. Their buildings have cleverly thought-out layouts enhanced by the expert eye of their in-house interior designer, Kat Valcheva.
With their in-house construction team bringing their designs to life, A Room in the Garden offers a truly bespoke, fully turnkey service. The perfect approach for clients who want to avoid managing any part of their garden room project themselves.
A Room in the Garden's clientele includes many high-profile individuals, but they also have solutions for those with smaller gardens who want something special. With the smallest garden room they offer, sitting on a footprint of approximately 4 sqm, A Room in the Garden can turn any size of the project into something spectacular.
"Currently, we are building two twenty-metre garden buildings which will hold golf simulators, two large, liveable spaces with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and large decked verandas. Then we start the build phase on a few smaller, very bespoke garden offices. We have around ten projects at the design stage. These will enter the building stage in the next six months," says Lukas, looking through their schedule.
"We are all very fortunate and grateful for what we have achieved. Having clients praising us for the quality of the completed product, creativity in design and how we deal with their needs is an amazing feeling. Seeing their smiles when we hand over the keys to a fully completed project is really the best thing," adds Ivana.
