Swift is the garden room company who strive to make a difference to people’s lives. They talk about building your dream, exceeding your expectations, and creating your lifestyle – your way.
Without any doubt, the events of the last two years have taught us all just how precious family is and how not being able to see each other can be such a painful and unforgiving experience. Swift Living Annexes offer you the perfect solution to ensure that this can never happen again.
These high-quality homes take away the heartache of family separation and make life easier for everyone…giving you an amazing opportunity to offer a whole new independent lifestyle to the older members of your family (or even younger ones!). The benefits are endless and what a time of life to bring your family together.
It truly is a no-brainer, where multi-generational living removes all the stress of a segregated family. Gone is all the anxiety following the phone call that you are needed by parents who live a distance away. Instead, your parents are just there - down your garden.
Thinking outside the box doesn’t even cover it! This gift of a multi-generational family lifestyle gives everyone their independence. Grandparents and grandchildren can get to see each other more, you have babysitters on site, and yet nobody has to organise a trip away or be a guest in each other’s homes.
Sometimes families sell their home and return to their parents’ larger home, where they move into their childhood home, and their parents have their new Living Annexe built in their bigger garden. Other times, the older parents sell their home and move into their children’s garden. Either way…it’s a win-win!
There’s never been a better time to bring families together, and Swift Living Annexes are certainly the solution for you to do... just that!
Swift are also excited to bring their new design Annexe concepts to the market.
Their aim was to produce garden living structures which are both unique and breath-taking.
Take a look at these designs - the architectural feel of these unbridled, contemporary 21st century designs will definitely inspire you! Explore more images in the gallery on this page.
Bringing Families Together – A Case Study
Mindful of the haunting stories of care home isolation and neglect endured throughout the challenging times of the multiple lockdowns, Swift’s clients, Rosie and David, made the bold decision to move out of their family home.
Both admitted that getting older and more arthritic meant that some day-to-day tasks were becoming more challenging. They saw their move to their new Swift Living Annexe at the bottom of the garden more of a ‘liberation’ than a sacrifice, freeing them up from “the burden of home and garden maintenance”. At the same time, this allows them both to spend more time doing what they love...spending time with family and friends, as well as more time to ‘dabble’ with art in their home art studio, literally on their new doorstep.

“Amazingly it took the contractor, Cheshire based company, Swift Garden Rooms only 24 working days to construct this Cedar clad modern building” D North – Northwich
“Our aim is to get ahead of the game by creating a separate but independent home specially designed for ourselves as we age, with a member of our family moving into our bungalow becoming responsible for its upkeep and maintenance, as well as ours. They will also be there to see we don’t misbehave too disgracefully as we wend our weary way through the ageing process, and it may well be that we have as much support to offer them through these challenging times. We will for example be there during working hours to help when the family are at work. Retirement is such fun, the best job we ever had.” R North - Northwich
