To coincide with their return to Grand Designs Live 30 April - 8 May 2022, Spaces Group is launching a Super Energy Efficient specification for their Garden Spaces and Annexe Spaces brands.
We'll let the Spaces Group team explain the details of this package below and explain how you can claim a free upgrade by visiting them at Grand Designs Live.
At The Spaces Group, home of Garden Spaces and Annexe Spaces, we are always looking to offer our discerning customers the very latest in technological advances in materials, improvements in thermal efficiency, and the associated reduction in energy consumption
As standard, our structures are all compliant with thermal requirements for new build homes (where stipulated by Building Control) but we always aim to surpass these requirements to create structures that will keep our customers’ energy bills as low as absolutely possible.
We use highly thermally efficient Polyurethane SIP (Structurally Insulated Panel) construction at the core of all of our buildings – in the floor, walls and roof. These panels offer U – values as low as 0.17 W/m2K for a 175mm panel.
Note: For your information when you are researching, the lower the better for U values, and the higher the better for R values.
We are now launching our new SEE (Super Energy Efficient) upgrade package to increase the thermal performance of our buildings to an unprecedented level.
To the SIP core, we are adding an additional layer of multi-layer ‘space age’ foil sheets (in the floor, walls and ceiling), that will further improve the thermal performance by up to a further 30%.
Note: Due to the use of modern low-profile solutions, we can keep the overall size of the structure almost the same as with our standard rooms, so there is no compromise to be made in lost space.
As part of this package, we are also offer an uplift to high performance glazing. This invisible glazing treatment improves the thermal performance of the glass by 20%.
Note: Windows are the worst offender when it comes to both heat loss, and also acoustic performance.
We also offer a wide range of blind solutions (integral, external aluminium & wood) and also now offer NEW ‘Blackout’ blinds.
All blinds offer a significant improvement but these new Blackout blinds can offer a further 60% improvement in thermal performance versus standard glazing. This will help maintain the ambient temperature in your room – either to keep the space cool during very hot days, or keep heat in on those colder nights.
We also offer, and are frequently incorporating, a range of high quality ‘air to air’ heat pumps, or climate control systems as they are often referred to. These systems are fitted by a highly skilled expert engineer, and offer a return of ‘4 to 1’ for energy used to run them. They heat/cool/air circulate and dehumidify.
This well proven technology is highly energy efficient with A++ rating, and due to the reliability of the technology, they are now also very low maintenance.
In summary
In total as part of the SEE package, we can realise improvement in overall thermal performance of up to 30%, and this can have a significant impact on the energy used to heat or cool your building in both summer and winter. If you add to this the highly efficient Climate control system, and some additional fenestration blind coverings the improvements can be even more significant, and thus reduce energy consumption even further.
