We are seeing more and more fitness professionals moving away from renting space for their classes, and building a made to measure building in their garden. Building With Boxes recently completed this high spec pilates studio, working closely with their client to create her ideal layout.
Building With Boxes client had been renting space for her pilates classes but decided to make use of the space in her garden to create a comfortable, high-spec studio with an ensuite shower room and storage room.
Building With Boxes uses house quality SIP’s panels for the core structure of their buildings. These panels create a highly insulated building that will be a comfortable place to workout, all year round. The exterior of the studio has been clad in Western Red Cedar, which was chosen to complement the cladding on the main house.
A four leaf set of bi-fold doors have been used to flood the studio with natural light; they can also be folded back on warmer days to create a free flowing indoor-outdoor space. The bi-folds open up onto a good sized deck area, and we could imagine classes spilling outside when the weather allows.
The customer says that the building has “exceeded her expectation”, and she loves the clean, light, spacious interior space.
