One of the leading names in the garden room industry, Smart Modular Buildings have added an exciting new design to their portfolio.
This week, they have launched Affinity, a contemporary Larch clad garden room. With Affinity, the SMART team have captured the essence of modern indoor-outdoor living. With both an insulated room for comfortable year-round use and a covered seating area that offers a great connection with the garden.
We can see so many potential uses for this indoor-outdoor configuration. You could have a comfortable seating area alongside your home office or a dining area next to your garden living room. Alternatively, you could use the main room as a home gym with a hot tub under the canopy.
Customise the layout to your needs
Like the other Smart Modular Buildings ranges, the Affinity Range can be customised to your needs. There are more than 60 size options to choose from, and you can select the style and configuration of the doors, windows and solid wall panels - creating your ideal layout.
One of the key features of the Affinity Range is the portico entrance detail. The covered deck area, with its feature side wall detail, offers shelter and creates a welcoming entrance into the building. The portico features recessed exterior downlights which will cast a curtain of light along the front wall.
When it comes to the canopy section of the design, you don't have to have this module. You could create a lovely standalone garden room without it. If you choose to add the canopy module to your building, you have choices between a 2m wide layout and a 3m wide layout. You can also choose between having the rear feature wall as in these photos or open walls on three sides.
We think it is lovely how the covered portico area cohesively wraps around into the canopied area.
Striking cladding detailing
What caught our eye when we first saw the Affinity Range, was the exterior cladding. It is Larch which is a highly durable finish, that has similar properties and life span as Cedar (if you are looking for a Cedar garden room check out the Ultra Range). The SMART team have fitted the exterior cladding with irregular width boards, which we think looks great and adds a lot of character to the design. The detailing of the boards along the fascia of the portico entrance is also eye-catching.
Stylish new interior options
To coincide with the launch of the Affinity Range, Smart Modular Buildings have added a new interior finish to their portfolio. The new finishes are now available on all seven Smart Modular Buildings designs.
