What We Need to Feature Your Project
Published: 29 August 2025
We love sharing examples of garden rooms and living annexes with our readers. The more detail you can provide, the more useful (and engaging) the article will be. Use the checklist below to help us put together a strong feature.
1. A selection of images & videos
- Exterior photos from different angles (ideally showing key design details).
- Interior shots that capture the finished space and any key design features.
- “In progress” or installation photos, if available.
- If the building is an irregular shape or split into rooms, a floor plan is very helpful.
- Short video tours, if you have them.
2. Size of the building
- Overall footprint (e.g. 5m x 3.5m).
- Height (please note if it’s over 2.5m).
- Internal layout if it’s more than one room.
3. Intended use
- How the client plans to use the space (e.g. home office, gym, studio, annexe).
- If it’s multi-purpose, a quick note on the different zones.
4. Special design features or site challenges
- Notable finishes, exterior cladding, glazing choices, layout decisions, or technical details.
- Site challenges solved (e.g. sloping ground, restricted access, proximity to boundaries).
- Whether the project was turnkey, or if the client organised final mains connections.
5. Build time & approvals
- On-site build time.
- Whether Planning Permission or Building Regulations approval was required.
