With the appropriate permissions, a garden room can be used as an additional bedroom. They provide excellent accommodation for friends and family, offering privacy for everyone. There is also a growing trend to add garden bedrooms for generating extra income through platforms like Airbnb.

En-suite garden bedroom
This particular example measures 5.9m wide by 3.5m deep and is a bespoke design that maximises the connection with the garden. The rectangular building has been divided into two rooms: a larger space serving as a double bedroom with a living area, and a second room containing a well-equipped shower room.
Executive Garden Rooms fit high-specification shower rooms in their annexes. As part of their turnkey service, they not only install the sanitaryware but also connect the shower room to the mains supply. These connections and the associated groundworks are included in the overall quoted price. Many other garden room companies leave these final connections to be arranged by the customer, adding an additional cost.
Any garden room intended for use as sleeping accommodation must comply with current Building Regulations. The shower room connections to the mains services also need to meet these regulations. Executive Garden Rooms are experienced in ensuring all work complies with these standards and is signed off by a Building Control Officer.
Low-maintenance external finishes
Executive Garden Rooms offer a selection of low-maintenance finishes for the exterior of their buildings. In this case, the highly insulated structure has been clad with Cedral boards. Cedral is a cement fibreboard that is dimensionally stable and requires no painting to maintain its colour or appearance. The boards are pigmented during the manufacturing process and come in a wide range of colours, from soft pastel shades to contemporary dark greys.
This customer opted for a soft green-grey Cedral board, paired with anthracite grey uPVC door and window frames, creating a modern and stylish look.
For added privacy, the customer chose to include integrated blinds in the glazing. These discreet blinds are fitted between the glass panels and operated by magnets. Because they are sealed within the glazing, the doors can be opened without the blinds moving or gathering dust.
