If you are looking for a small garden office that is big enough for one person to work at a desk and is not going to dominate the garden, then you are in the right place! We have found five super mini garden office buildings to share with you today.
At 1.8 meters/6ft deep or less, they are the smallest garden office pods on the market. They may be small, but they are well designed to be functional workspaces, and share many design features with their bigger counterparts.
Designed to maximise the space in your garden
Each of the five small garden office pods we have found is 2.5 meters high. This makes them Permitted Development friendly, meaning they can, in most cases, be installed without the need for planning permission.
The footprint of these pods, combined with their 2.5m maximum height, means that they can be sited close to the boundaries of your garden under the Permitted Development rules. This will maximise the space available in your garden.
Some of the options have no maintenance external finishes which allows them to be positioned tight to a wall; one company say they can install 50mm/2inches away from a wall, fence or hedge - that's space-saving!
Safe and sound garden office pods
Each of the five, 6ft deep garden office pods we have to share is designed for year-round use. They feature double glazing, insulation and specialist membranes which create a warm, damp-proof office - meaning that paperwork and computers are stored well, just like in your house.
The doors and windows on these micro office pods are house quality, and feature insurance approved multi-point locking systems. This, coupled with multi-layer wall build-ups, ensures a secure workplace in the garden.
Installed in a day
These micro office pods are an excellent solution if you are in a hurry. They tend to have much shorter lead times than their bigger counterparts. They can also be installed much quicker, typically within one day on-site.
Typically, you will then need to engage a local electrician to perform the electrical hook-up to the supply in your house. Some micro pod companies include this connection in the price they quote, but most don't.

2.4m x 1.2m (8ft x 4ft) QCB2 by Booths Garden Studios
At 1.2m/4ft deep, this is the narrowest garden office pod we have to share. It is the smallest example of Booths Garden Studios hugely popular QCB2 range. The wall of floor to ceiling glazing makes the pod feel bigger than it actually is. As you will see if you watch the video, there is also window positioned over the desk. There is room for a comfy chair to sit and ponder, or you could fit bookshelves, whatever works for you.
The QCB2 comes with a low maintenance exterior cladding, this coupled with the clever Booths build system, means that the QCB2 office pod can be installed within 2 inches of a wall or fence.
