The client chose a 3m x 2m Key Studio, which may sound small, but it demonstrates how effective planning and flexible design can create a fully functioning workspace. By thinking carefully about their equipment and workflow, the client configured the solid wall sections and glazing to suit their needs.
The result is a light, inviting space that feels larger than its footprint. The dogs being treated can even enjoy views of the garden thanks to the well-placed windows.
Stylish and Functional Design
The exterior combines durable Thermowood cladding with black uPVC doors, windows, and chassis for a smart, contemporary finish. A glazed corner has been created with two full-height windows, next to which sit a pair of outward-opening doors and a double casement window. Another casement window on the side wall makes it easy to keep the studio well-ventilated.
Inside, the white silk melamine walls with natural timber beading provide a bright, wipe-clean finish — ideal for a grooming studio. Medium oak laminate flooring and LED downlights complete the professional, easy-to-maintain interior.
Ready for Business
Like all Smart Modular Buildings, the Key Studio is fully insulated for year-round use. The standard specification includes an electric heater, while options such as underfloor heating or air conditioning can be added. This studio was retrospectively fitted with water and waste services to accommodate grooming equipment such as a dog bath and professional dryers.
Electrics are wired in as standard, with sockets and lights ready to support a working setup. For this groomer, the space now houses their table, bath, and tool storage — all within a building that looks both modern and professional.
