Year-Round Garden Bar by Cabin Master

Reading Time: 3 minutes
In an already lovely Worcestershire garden, Cabin Master worked with their client to create a garden bar and entertainment room where the owners can spend time with family and friends comfortably all year round, thanks to the insulated nature of Cabin Master's garden rooms.
This project is quite a different layout to some of the other Cabin Master projects we have featured recently. It shows the flexibility of their design service and how they tailor each design to the client's requirements and the garden setting.
A Covered Entrance Area
The building measures 5m x 3m, and within that footprint there is a 1.5m x 3m covered entrance area. You go through sliding doors, which fill that end wall, into the room. It is a neat, self-contained covered spot to stand out of the rain, and somewhere to sit just outside the doors on a summer evening.
Cedar, Marley Board and Black Frames
The garden room has a wonderfully indoor-outdoor feel thanks to the combination of glazing the owner has chosen. On the left-hand wall, overlooking the decked area and into the garden planting, are three full-height windows, broken up by sections of Western Red Cedar cladding. Each features external up-down lighters, which cast a curtain of light into the evening.
The rich natural colouring of the Western Red Cedar is offset by black door and window frames, fascias, and the composite deck. The cedar has been finished in oil, which helps hold the warmer tone rather than letting it weather to silver as quickly.
On the less visible walls, a Marley board in slate grey has been used. This is a cement board which requires virtually no maintenance to maintain its durability and colour. Mixing the two materials is a sensible way to put the premium timber where it is seen and a maintenance-free board where it is not, and it is the sort of decision a bespoke design service makes possible.
Built for Comfortable Use in Every Season
As we say, Cabin Master garden rooms are designed for comfortable year-round use, with insulation in the floor, walls, and ceiling, coupled with house-quality double-glazed doors and windows. It is worth asking about this on any building described as a year-round space.
Letterbox-style windows are positioned high in the rear and right-hand walls, allowing for easy ventilation of the room without having to rely on the doors being open. A small detail, but a useful one in a room used for entertaining.
A Bar and Entertainment Space in Two Tones of Grey
The owner has styled the interior as a comfortable bar and entertainment space, and we spy a projector and screen, so it is also used for movie nights.
The beaded tongue and groove wall panelling has been finished in two tones of grey, City Break on the feature wall and Grey Lace on the remaining three, over laminate flooring. It is the perfect backdrop for the owner's furnishings. As you will see if you explore some of the other Cabin Master projects we have shown, they offer a wide range of colour options for the interior finishes.
The complete building was installed on site in two days by Cabin Master's own team.
