Many garden room buyers plan to run a business from their new building. One of the most popular occupations conducted in a garden room is beauty therapy. Afterall, a garden room offers beauticians all the benefits of working from home but creates a clear distinction between work and home life and a professional, private environment for your clients to visit.
Sanctum Garden Studios designed a beauty studio that would slot into the end of a long, narrow garden in Worthing. Their client, Nikki, was already working with an architect and the Sanctum team were happy to liaise with them on specific features of the garden room so that it was tailored to Nikki’s specific needs.
Because this garden room is used for business, Planning Permission was required
The Sanctum Garden Studios team designed a garden room that was 2.4m wide by 4.2m deep. The overall height of the building is just below 2.5m high. Often, a 2.5m high garden room can be built under the Permitted Development rules, but because this garden room is being used to run a business from, a Planning Permission application was needed. Sanctum Garden Studios supplied the relevant elevation drawings and specification details, and Nikki made a successful application.
Built in just 2-days
Once the Planning Application was granted, the building was completed in just two days. Nikki decided that the standard specification of the Contemporary Range by Sanctum Garden Studios fitted the bill, the only extra’s she specified were two outside lights.
Nestling into its surroundings
This photo shows Nikki’s beauty studio a year a so after it was built. You can see that the Cedar cladding has started to weather to a silvery grey colour.
