There truly is a garden room to suit every garden. This is especially true when working with a bespoke designer who can tailor the size and layout to your unique space. This tiny garden studio by Timber Rooms demonstrates how even the smallest gardens can benefit from a beautifully designed building. At just 2.73sqm, it’s one of the smallest garden rooms you’ll encounter, designed specifically for a compact space. Despite its modest size, it doesn’t compromise on style or functionality.
Designed to Maximise Small Spaces
We love showcasing small garden studios because they highlight the skill of a designer in balancing form and function within confined dimensions.
This tiny studio, measuring just 1.53m x 1.79m, is a brilliant example of thoughtful, bespoke design. It demonstrates how a well-planned approach can deliver impressive results, even in the tightest spots.
Tailored for Its Environment
Timber Rooms specialise in bespoke garden room designs, and this project perfectly illustrates their ability to adapt to challenging spaces.
The client, living in a terraced house with a well-established garden, had a small area near their home by a pond. The studio needed to fit neatly into this space while maintaining the garden pathway leading to the gate. After a site visit, Timber Rooms proposed the compact yet functional 1.53m x 1.79m studio.
Meeting a Specific Brief
The studio was designed as a glass workshop. It needed to be naturally bright, warm for year-round use, and equipped with ample power, including a supply for a kiln and plenty of sockets. Internet connectivity was another essential feature.
A Small Studio Packed with Features
Despite its size, this studio is rich in features. The glazed door floods the interior with light and provides easy access from the pathway. Casement windows on the side and rear walls add more natural light and offer delightful views of the garden.
The interior, finished with white-painted plastered walls, reflects light beautifully. It’s a level of finish rarely seen in small garden studios.
The studio is fully wired, with sufficient sockets for equipment and underfloor heating to keep the space cosy. This heating solution frees up wall space, ensuring there’s room for desks and storage.
Externally, the studio is just as impressive. It’s clad in Western Red Cedar, offering a warm, natural aesthetic. The roof features a living roof system, helping the structure blend seamlessly into the garden and creating a delightful view from upstairs windows.
This project by Timber Rooms is a fantastic example of how limited space doesn’t mean sacrificing style or functionality.
