Timber Rooms – Go-To Name for Bespoke Golf Studios

For golfers who want to play, practise, and improve all year round, Timber Rooms have become a go-to name for bespoke golf simulator rooms in East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, and South London. Their experience designing and building purpose-made golf studios means each project is carefully planned to achieve the ideal combination of height, space, and technology.
The Timber Rooms team recently shared a video tour of one of their seven-metre-long golf studios, explaining the key elements that make a great simulator setup. It’s well worth watching to see how the layout works in practice.
Inside a Timber Rooms Golf Studio
As shown in the video, this golf studio has been designed with serious players in mind. Measuring 7m x 4m with a full 3m internal height, it provides ample space to swing a driver comfortably — even for taller golfers.
The hitting bay features a GC3 launch monitor from Foresight Sports, the compact sibling to the GC Quad system used by professionals on the PGA and DP World Tours. The monitor sits at floor level to track the clubface and ball with precision, sending real-time data to the wall-mounted computer and projector.
A large impact screen displays each shot’s trajectory, while acoustic padding around the bay helps absorb sound and protect from wayward balls. The floor combines Astro turf and a dedicated hitting mat, creating a realistic feel similar to practising at the driving range. There’s even room for a sofa, making it a social space to enjoy a round with friends.
Built with a multi-layer construction for comfort and durability, the studio can be used day or night, rain or shine — a true all-season setup that lets golfers play without leaving home.
Designed for Height, Comfort, and Performance
In an earlier Timber Rooms project in Godalming, Surrey, the team demonstrated how they adapt each design to its setting. To achieve the 3.2m internal height needed for a comfortable swing, they excavated the site by 700mm so the mono-pitched building remained within Permitted Development limits. Timber sleeper retaining walls and composite decked steps turned this into an attractive sunken-garden feature.
Every aspect — from the Thermo Ayous cladding to the recessed lighting canopy and acoustic interior finishes — was chosen for both style and performance. It’s this attention to detail that makes Timber Rooms’ golf studios so distinctive.
