Swift Man Cave Fits Perfectly into a Tight Garden Space

Swift Unlimited is a name synonymous with bespoke garden room designs. With over 15 years of experience, their portfolio highlights their ability to adapt each project to the client’s garden and specific requirements.
For this build, Swift Unlimited was tasked with designing a multifunctional leisure space at the end of their client’s garden. The available plot was bordered by three fences and an existing structure, making this project both unique and complex.
The Design Vision
In the initial consultations, Swift Unlimited’s team collaborated with their client to develop a comprehensive wish list. The design needed to accommodate:
- A seating area with space for a large TV
- A pool table and bar area
- A cloakroom with a W.C.
The inclusion of cloakroom facilities not only enhances the building's functionality but also adds long-term value, making it a versatile asset for both current and future homeowners.
Swift Unlimited’s solution was an L-shaped design, strategically maximising the available space while seamlessly incorporating the client’s wishlist.
Thoughtful Layout
The L-shaped structure’s front elevation spans 7m, while the rear narrows to 5m in width, with a depth of 4.2m. Clever use of the small wing area ensures the cloakroom fits neatly into the layout without compromising the rest of the space.
A 900mm wide cloakroom was included, leaving ample room for the adjoining bar area. To further optimise space, a pocket door was installed, sliding into the wall when open. Few garden room providers offer this option, but Swift Unlimited’s experience with such features made it an effortless addition.
As part of their turnkey service, Swift Unlimited managed the groundwork and connections to mains utilities, ensuring a smooth process for adding the cloakroom facilities.
High-Spec Interior
Swift Unlimited is renowned for their luxury interior finishes. For this project:
- Walls and ceilings were professionally plastered and decorated.
- The wall designated for the TV was reinforced to support its weight, showcasing bespoke craftsmanship.
- A hardwired internet connection ensures seamless streaming and reliable connectivity for leisure activities.
- Recessed Collingwood LED downlights provide optimal lighting, with separate controls for the pool table area to create a tailored ambience.
Sleek and Durable Exterior
The exterior combines style and practicality, featuring low-maintenance materials that stand the test of time.
- 3m-wide powder-coated aluminium bi-fold doors connect the interior to the garden. Their dark grey finish pairs beautifully with the natural reddish tones of Western Red Cedar cladding.
- Exterior-grade Collingwood LED lights under the roof canopy illuminate the front elevation, enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal.
