Crane Garden Buildings has joined forces with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to launch the RHS Cube—a sleek new insulated garden studio that blends contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship.
Inspired by RHS Hilltop, the home of horticultural science at RHS Garden Wisley, the RHS Cube is designed as a year-round extension of the home. It’s a space that can be tailored for a wide range of uses—from garden office or art studio, to home gym, wellness retreat, or simply a place to unwind and enjoy the garden.
Stylish and Practical Design, from a Trusted Name in Timber Buildings
Crane Garden Buildings are known for their quality timber garden buildings, and the RHS Cube continues that tradition. Made to order in their Norfolk workshops and installed by their experienced team, the RHS Cube combines a bold, architectural form with practical, sustainable features.
A thermally efficient aluminium pocket door slides neatly into the wall, creating an uninterrupted connection between inside and out. Optional fanlight or full-height aluminium windows bring in natural light, and the building comes fully lined and insulated for comfortable use in every season.
Sizes and Layout Options
The RHS Cube is available in a wide range of sizes—from compact 2.5m x 2.5m options to larger 4.5m x 7.0m designs—giving you plenty of scope to tailor the building to your needs and garden size. You can also choose from two veranda options (0.25m or 1.25m), creating space for anything from potted plants to a bistro set.
Whether you're planning a minimalist garden retreat or a fully fitted workspace, there’s the flexibility to add internal partitions, an electric pack and heating. You can choose the position of the sliding pocket door (left- or right-handed) to suit your site, and combine exterior paint finishes with coordinated interior options for a cohesive look.
Sustainable, Built-to-Last Construction
Sustainability is a key focus for both Crane and the RHS. Timber used in construction is PEFC-certified, paints are water-based, and over 95% of waste from the workshop is reused or recycled. Customers can also opt for a professionally installed concrete or steel base, laid to precise specifications for long-term stability.
Guttering is available to help manage rainwater and protect the building’s base—ideal if you're planning surrounding hard landscaping or a water collection system.
Personalise Your RHS Cube Using the Online Configurator
One of the key features of the RHS Cube is the ability to personalise it to your exact requirements. Crane’s online configurator makes this process straightforward—allowing you to design your own RHS Cube, choose finishes, add features, and see the price update in real time as you go.
From flooring (choose between lacquered boards or engineered options in a range of colours), to painted internal matchboarding (available in soft Ivory or a curated selection of Farrow & Ball shades), every choice gives you the opportunity to reflect your personal style.
