This stylish project by Sanctum Garden Studios stands out for its minimalist and industrial aesthetic. Instead of the traditional white walls and ceiling that create a house-like appearance, the owners opted for walls and ceiling lined with MDF.
The soft, natural tones of the bare MDF, accentuated by the subtle lines of the small gaps between the boards, bring the desired industrial feel to life. Carefully chosen furniture complements the overall look perfectly.
A Bespoke Take on the Contemporary Cubed Range
Measuring 4.2m x 3m, this studio is a customised version of Sanctum Garden Studios’ Contemporary Cubed range. The team tailored the standard design to align with their client’s vision.
In this instance, the usual interior finish options were replaced with MDF panelling. Typically, the Contemporary range offers customers a choice between a white wall panel finish or a plastered interior.
Externally, the studio also deviates from the standard specification. While the Contemporary range generally features vertical tongue-and-groove Western Red Cedar cladding, this client requested horizontal Cedar cladding with shadow gaps for a distinctive finish.
The studio’s bi-fold doors open to one side, seamlessly connecting the indoor space with the garden beyond.
