One of the key advantages of working with a bespoke designer is the ability to create a unique building tailored specifically to your needs. This project by Executive Garden Rooms is a good example of their approach . Their client wanted a home office with a good connection to the garden, along with a secure indoor storage room and a discreet outdoor storage area. To maximise the building's long-term functionality, they also opted to include a shower room.
To meet these diverse requirements, Executive Garden Rooms designed a 5.5m wide by 3.5m deep building. This space was carefully divided into three main areas: the office, the storage shed, and the shower room. Cleverly concealed on the left side of the building, the outdoor storage area for bikes and other equipment offers 3.5 square metres of space and sits behind the façade of the front wall, ensuring a seamless exterior appearance.
Comprehensive Turnkey Service
Executive Garden Rooms offer a full turnkey service, managing everything from initial design concepts to planning applications and building control approvals, right through to final decoration. For this particular project, their service also included comprehensive groundwork for electrical connections, water and drainage systems, and the installation of a reinforced concrete base for added stability.
Low-Maintenance Exterior
The garden office exterior features durable, low-maintenance finishes. The walls are clad in Cedral, a cement fibre board that is pre-coloured and requires no ongoing painting, ensuring the building maintains its new appearance over time. uPVC doors and windows were selected for their ease of care—just a simple soapy wipe will keep them looking fresh. The roof, constructed with a multi-layer bitumen covering, provides reliable weatherproofing that will endure for years.
Modern Interior Finishes
The interior is finished to a high standard, with plastered and decorated walls, creating the feel of a modern room in a new-build home. To enhance year-round comfort, the client also chose to have an air conditioning system installed, providing efficient heating and cooling.
