This multifunctional garden building, created by Ark Design Build, provides a space where the owners can work, exercise, and entertain. A fully insulated garden room has been extended with a covered seating area alongside.

The insulated room sits on a 5m x 3m footprint. Through the windows, it’s clear that this space will serve as a home office with room for gym equipment.
The room features a well-planned glazing configuration, combining a tall window with an opening section and two sets of sliding doors, positioned to create a glazed corner.
One set of sliding doors opens directly onto the garden, while the other leads into the 3m x 3m covered seating area.
Often, in similar garden rooms, the outdoor seating area is supported by one or two solid walls under the roof canopy. However, the owners of this building wanted a stronger connection with the garden, so the canopy is supported by posts, creating three open sides.
Exterior-grade LED downlights have been fitted in the canopy’s underside, surrounding the central skylight. As you can see, the lighting enhances the space and extends its use into the evening.
