Inspired by the Client's Vision
During their consultation, Miniature Manors’ clients expressed their desire for something more dynamic than a standard timber-clad structure. They also shared their admiration for a green wall they had seen at an airport, suggesting that incorporating a similar feature would elevate their garden room.
Miniature Manors embraced this concept, creating a 3D visualisation of the proposed design. The clients were thrilled, and the vision was brought to life.
Functionality Meets Design
Measuring 9m x 3.3m, the garden room’s L-shaped layout provides two distinct spaces: a generously sized office and a practical storage area. The standout feature green wall has been installed on the storage wing, with a secret door cleverly hidden amidst the lush greenery.
The feature wall extends to the front elevation, adding a touch of greenery visible from every angle. This design choice enhances the overall aesthetic, making the building feel more integrated with its surroundings.
A Low-Maintenance Green Wall
Living walls are known for their striking visual impact but can be challenging to maintain, as they require irrigation systems and regular upkeep. Drawing on their expertise, Miniature Manors and their clients opted for artificial plants to achieve a similar effect with minimal maintenance.
The artificial plants, with their varied tones and textures, look realistic and vibrant all year round. The green wall is complemented by Hardie Plank cladding, a durable cement fibre board that maintains its colour without the need for painting.
Thoughtful Details
Decking boards with integrated spotlights cast light upwards, highlighting the textures and colours of the green wall. Inside, large uPVC sliding doors lead to the office space. The interior has been plastered and decorated, creating a bright, modern workspace flooded with natural light.
