Garden rooms serve a variety of purposes—home offices, fitness studios, or creative spaces. Increasingly, they are being used as entertainment hubs, offering the perfect setting for winter dinner parties or summer gatherings, where you can push back the doors and let the festivities flow into the garden.
This stylish example of a garden entertainment space, designed by Miniature Manors, takes hosting to the next level. Uniquely, it features an indoor barbecue, making it a first among projects featured on The Garden Room Guide!
A Bespoke Garden Dining Room
The clients for this project are avid entertainers who envisioned an insulated outdoor dining room as the centrepiece of their garden. They partnered with West Sussex-based Miniature Manors, known for their expertise in crafting bespoke garden rooms.
Having followed Miniature Manors’ work for years, we’re consistently impressed by how they tailor their designs to meet individual client needs. Their portfolio reflects a mastery of both sleek, contemporary styles and more traditional aesthetics, making them versatile designers for any taste.
Contemporary Design with Low Maintenance Features
The garden dining room exudes contemporary charm, with exterior walls clad in Ecoscape slatted composite cladding. This increasingly popular material not only enhances the building’s character but also offers practical benefits. As a composite board, it resists rot, retains its colour, and requires minimal maintenance—qualities backed by a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.
The cladding’s Spiced Oak finish pairs beautifully with dark grey aluminium bi-fold doors, which open wide to create a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Indoor South African Braai
Measuring 5.5m x 4m, this garden dining room includes high-spec interior finishes with plastered and decorated walls. However, its standout feature is the indoor barbecue: an authentic South African braai from The Braai Man.
Miniature Manors took care of the braai installation, incorporating essential fireproofing measures to ensure safety without compromising on style.
To complement the space, the owners opted for luxury vinyl flooring instead of the usual laminate, finishing it with skirting boards for a polished look.
Extended Entertaining Space
A wrap-around composite decking extends the dining area into the garden, creating additional space for outdoor entertaining.
