We have spoken with a few garden room buyers recently who have been surprised to find that their garden room doesn’t have a finished floor covering such as laminate or carpet, all they have is a boarded floor deck ready to take the finished floor covering.
This is not that unusual, particularly on more budget models of garden room, where not providing the final floor covering is one of the ways the companies can offer such a competitive price, but you should be aware of this when comparing specifications to avoid disappointment!
However, if your chosen garden room doesn’t come with a final floor covering you will have a floor deck that is ready to take a variety of floor coverings from laminate to hardwood, tiles to carpet or even trendy finishes like rubber. If you are a competent DIY’er laying the final floor covering in a garden room should be no problem, but if not a floor fitter will be happy to help you out, we recently heard from the team at Vera Flooring who are happy to help out garden room owners in the South East, here’s a bit about them:

So, check the specification to see if the final floor covering is included in the price or just the deck, to avoid disappointment.
