As the name suggests, the Classic Range from Crusoe Garden Rooms features many of the design features which have become the ‘classics’ of contemporary design.
The garden room is clad vertically in Western Red Cedar which is a signature look of contemporary garden room design. This is mixed with a wide section of floor to ceiling glazing on the front elevation, which leads on to a decked veranda which extends the living space into the garden – also popular design features in contemporary garden room design.
This example of the Crusoe Classic Garden Room sits on a footprint of 6m wide by 3.5m deep, the decked veranda that runs along the front elevation is 1.5m deep.
Slate grey doors & windows
A pair of sliding doors has been positioned in the centre of the front wall. A full height fixed glazed panel sits on either side of the doors, creating a wide expanse of glazing leading onto the deck. A further fixed pane, floor to ceiling window has been positioned on the side elevation.
Crusoe Garden Rooms have chosen to use low maintenance uPVC doors and windows in their garden rooms. These are finished in a slate grey which contrasts well with the rich reddish brown of the Cedar cladding.
The interior side of the doors and windows has a white finish, which helps to reflect light in the room.
The doors and windows are double glazed with Pilkington K glass which offers added energy efficiency over standard double glazing.
Light, modern interior
As you can see from these images the interior of the Crusoe Classic Garden Room has a light and airy feel. The room has plasterboarded and skimmed walls and ceiling, which have then been painted.
The floor is a durable laminate laid over an underfloor heating system. The light finish the customer has chosen for the floor adds to the light, modern feel of the room.
Two weeks to build
This garden room took the Crusoe team two weeks to build on-site. The build process included the laying of the foundation system. In this instance, a concrete lintel system was used, as the customer didn’t want a permanent concrete slab foundation.
The Crusoe team went on to create the traditional timber framework right through to the installation of the electrics and the final decoration.
This 6m x 3.5m garden room cost just under £21,000 including VAT.
