Garden Spaces are among the few specialists able to seamlessly attach garden room designs directly to a home as an extension. For this project, they designed and built a modern, Cedar-clad extension to expand a family’s kitchen with a bright, welcoming playroom.
6m x 3m Kitchen Extension
This spacious 6.09m x 3.09m room features a key architectural highlight: a glazed corner with two sets of aluminium sliding doors. While many designs would require a corner post to support the roof, Garden Spaces' innovative approach eliminated the need for one. This clever design allows for an unobstructed corner, opening the room fully onto the garden. Support is ensured through cantilevered engineering, likely incorporating steel beams to distribute the roof’s weight.
The exterior is clad in Western Red Cedar, known for its natural durability and beautiful finish—perfect for tying the new extension with other Cedar-clad elements of the home.
High-Spec Interior Finishes
Inside, the room has been expertly plastered and decorated, with detailing that reveals an attractive stone wall feature. Additionally, an internal window has been left in place, while a large opening between the kitchen and playroom creates a seamless, free-flowing connection.
Garden Spaces utilise highly insulated SIP panels in their extensions, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations for optimal energy efficiency and comfort.
