B-Range Affordable Garden Room Collection

Green Retreats Launches B-Range Affordable Garden Room Collection

Published: 23 April 2026
Reading Time: 3 minutes 50 seconds

Green Retreats has expanded its original Basebox concept into a wider entry-level garden room collection called the B-Range. The new line-up brings together five designs under one umbrella, aimed at homeowners who want a simpler route to adding an insulated room in the garden without moving into higher-tier pricing.

The launch reflects a clear shift in buyer demand. More homeowners want practical extra room for work, fitness, hobbies, or day-to-day overflow, but do not always need the full specification that comes as standard in mid and premium ranges.

Green Retreats says that pattern is exactly what sat behind the move from one Basebox model to a broader family of options. Managing Director Roy Wetherall describes the B-Range as a response to demand for a more straightforward and affordable way to create extra room at home.

Five Models, Five Design Characters

The B-Range includes five models: B1 Lite, B1, B2, B3, and B5. Rather than offering one fixed look, the collection gives buyers different architectural styles that can be matched to the house, garden, and intended use.

B1 is a contemporary take on traditional cabin proportions, with a canopy hood detail on the front elevation.

B1 Lite is like the B1 but with an OSB interior finish, which you could leave for a pared-back look or decorate to your own taste.

B2 is stylish in its simplicity, thanks to its cubist lines.

B3 is a sharp, squared design with a protruding front frame that adds depth and creates a strong architectural feature.

B5 has a stylish three-sided front protrusion, with the step, side, and roof hood detail visually flowing together with a curved corner detail.

Sizes and What the Base Price Typically Covers

Green Retreats quotes the B-Range across thirty-six size configurations. Sizes are often given as internal dimensions on their pricing pages, so the actual building footprint will be slightly larger when you are visualising the space in your garden.

For models installed by Green Retreats other than B1 Lite and the self-build B1 Kit, the base price is really about the insulated shell: foam insulation through the walls, floor, and roof, paired with double-glazed uPVC (a French or sliding door set, typically around 1.8m wide, plus a lozenge opening window) and insurance-grade locks. The roof surface is a maintenance-free coated steel panel. Outside, the cladding is pre-primed composite wood-effect boards with a grooved vertical profile; Green Retreats require this to be painted within six months of installation. Inside, the standard lining is white melamine on those models. B1 Lite keeps the B1 exterior character but switches the interior to OSB instead of melamine, which is where much of the saving comes from.

The base price also includes a site survey, professional installation, and a twelve-year guarantee.

B1 Kit is the outlier: a self-build route from £9,995 for the building see Green Retreats’ B1 Kit prices and sizes, aimed at buyers who are comfortable assembling the shell themselves or coordinating their own install.

Exteriors, Interiors, and Upgrade Packs

The exterior of the B-Range is designed to be low maintenance. The composite wood cladding needs to be painted within six months of installation; after that, long-term upkeep is mostly about keeping the paintwork in good order. The steel roofing system and uPVC door and window frames need little day-to-day attention.

Inside, white melamine on B1, B2, B3, and B5 gives a plain, neutral interior that is easy to furnish. B1 Lite is different, with OSB lining instead of melamine. Electrics, lighting, flooring, and some internal finishes sit in optional upgrade packs rather than in the base figure, which is part of how Green Retreats keeps the installed price down. Buyers can add packs for a more finished room, or supply their own cabling and floor finishes if they prefer to control those details themselves.

Beyond that, personalisation is largely a question of size, which model you pick, and which upgrade packs you add when turning the insulated shell into a working office, gym, or hobby space.

See Before You Buy in Buckinghamshire

Green Retreats has the five B-Range designs on display in the B-Range Village at their Buckinghamshire HQ, so you can walk between models and compare proportions and detailing in person before committing. For anyone weighing B1 against B2 or deciding whether Lite is enough, that side-by-side visit is often more instructive than scrolling through photos.
