Garden2Office regularly share their projects on Instagram, offering a great insight into the versatility of their tailor-made garden rooms. We spotted this stylish garden room with an angled canopy and wanted to share it, as it’s a great example of how they tailor their designs to meet each customer’s requirements. Built using a highly insulated Swedish panel system, these buildings can be adapted in size, layout and finish to suit a wide variety of uses.
Garden2Office offers several ranges, each with its own character and style:
- The Friggebod – This range features a roof canopy along the front of the building, into which exterior lighting can be incorporated. Often chosen for offices, studios, or cinema rooms, it can be tailored to suit a wide variety of uses.
- The Malmö – Defined by its pitched roofline, the Malmö creates a vaulted ceiling inside. Some owners have specified a mezzanine floor, making it a flexible choice for separating work and relaxation or accommodating overnight guests.
- The SportsKabin – A highly versatile range and one of Garden2Office’s most popular options. It can be adapted to suit many different requirements and is often chosen for larger buildings where families want a generous, multi-purpose space.
- The Kapsel – Designed with smaller gardens in mind, the Kapsel proves you don’t need a big footprint to gain a stylish new room. Like the Friggebod, it features a roof overhang detail while retaining all the customisable options of the larger ranges.
These ranges are simply a starting point; the Garden2Office team works with each client to develop a building that reflects their style and requirements. Their Instagram feed is full of inspiration showing how adaptable the system can be.
Distinctive Angled Canopy Detail
For this particular project, the client wanted a garden room with a striking angled canopy. While extending the roofline to create a canopy is a common feature, this angled interpretation is less often seen. The deep canopy projects over the front of the building, supported at its widest point by a substantial wall cheek, before tapering seamlessly back into the vertical cladding on the right-hand side.
The all-black finish enhances the bold form, with vertical cladding, three-pane bi-fold doors, and roof kerbs adding to the contemporary aesthetic.
Industrial-Inspired Interior
Inside, the client opted to line the walls with OSB (Oriented Strand Board). OSB is created by compressing layers of timber strands with adhesives, forming strong and stable sheets. Its textured surface, with visible wood flakes, adds a pared-back industrial feel.
Garden2Office offers a wide choice of interior finishes. Browsing their Instagram, you’ll see examples of plastered and painted interiors, natural matchboard, combinations of the two, and more – giving clients the freedom to achieve the look that suits them best.
