This project by Garden Fortress showcases a bespoke garden room designed to meet various needs, including soundproofing and kitchen & shower room facilities. Tailored around the client’s specifications, the build incorporates a versatile storage room, an increasingly popular feature for those wanting multifunctional garden buildings.
Striking Exterior Design
A unique aspect of this garden room is the recessed front wall, which creates a stylish frame effect. Garden Fortress enhanced this by combining Western Red Cedar cladding with a soft grey rendered finish. Using modern, silicon-based pre-coloured render eliminates the need for painting and ensures durability. The storage room door is also finished in the same grey colour, blending seamlessly into the wall for a streamlined appearance.
High-Spec Soundproof Studio
A major requirement for this project was a high-spec soundproof studio. Garden Fortress worked closely with their client to develop an acoustic package that stands out in the market. Unlike many acoustic solutions, this design features a secondary studwork frame, creating a "room within a room" that is not attached to the main structure. This decoupling reduces vibrations and minimises noise transfer. The soundproofing is further reinforced with acoustic underlay, specialised plasterboard, and acoustic glass doors.
Stylish Kitchen and Shower Room
This 6m x 5m garden room also includes a kitchenette and a compact shower room complete with a shower, toilet, and basin. Hot water is supplied by an efficient water heater installed under the sink, optimising space.
To manage water flow, a pumping station was added, and the water and waste systems were connected to the main household supply via a trench.
Enhanced Electrical and Heating Systems
Garden Fortress offers a well-rounded electrical package, featuring ceiling-recessed LED lighting and exterior-grade LEDs that illuminate the front wall. In this project, the client opted for an upgraded heating system: a slimline panel heater equipped with a wireless thermostat and timer for added convenience and temperature control.
